| Estate Planning By Phone for Any California Resident |
Many California residents have no easy access to any attorney, and even less access to an estate planning attorney.
I offer this service to facilitate providing estate planning services to California residents regardless of your location. When
your documents are completed, you will have to travel to a notary to get your documents finalized. In addition you will
have to have either a land line or an exceptionally stable mobile connection. For couples, you will need a speaker phone.
The service works as follows:
You call for a free introductory discussion during which we get to know each other and decide whether to work together.
If so, I provide by mail a representation agreement and some basic data capture forms.
You send back the completed forms and your deposit in the amount of $500, $750 for a married couple.
I call to arrange a mutually convenient time for us to conduct an in depth phone interview. We have that interview.
I prepare draft documents and mail them to you.
We have another in depth interview to go over the documents and make changes as appropriate.
I mail the final documents to a notary of your choice.
Final payment is due when you pick up the documents.
Face to face communications is richer than a phone call. Depending on the complexity of your situation and your comfort
level on the phone, a phone interview may or may not be sufficient. (See Do You Need a Face to Face Meeting?) But this
option avoids transportation expense.
