Alan R. Horvath, Attorney at Law
|
A Law Practice is a business. This is true for the sole practitioner in a rural town, and the staff attorney
in the big city law firm. In either case, the attorney has to bill at a rate that will not only give him or her a
decent income, but will also pay for the office rent and the receptionist.
If you wish to have an estate plan done, you need an attorney who is experienced in estate plans. A fancy
office buys you nothing in itself unless you are willing to assume that the expense of the office directly
translates into the expertise of the attorney practicing there.
You do need an attorney who can understand the life style you are living and the issues it raises for you
and your family. This may mean you need a flashy attorney, and it may not.
However, the bottom line is that an attorney in a big city high rise has to charge you more than a sole
practitioner in a rural town.
